Week 6 - Bearology

Bearology is one of the huge chain stores that dominate the bubble tea field and it had been a while since I last went. Their menu contains a variety of drinks (I was very tempted to buy some) but I still went for the classic order to try and keep the competition fair: original milk tea which no ice, 50% sugar, and tapioca pearls. 

I would say that their drinks are on the sweeter side as the 50% sugar usually gives you a fair amount of bitterness but here, the bitterness was just peeking through the sweetness of the milk. However, the tapioca pearls were enjoyable and while they were more bouncy, it was fun to chew and have a stickier consistency compared to the tapioca you get from other stores. Although I would have a preferred something slightly more bitter, I was not unhappy with the drink and it is definitely better than some other bubble tea places (cough). 

This place is definitely on the pricier side compared to other stores, selling their tea at almost 8 dollars. However, this is most likely due to the fact that they give you your drink in a glass container, which can be brought back for a discounted drink (eco-friendly too!).
